Govt targets cheaper electricity
President Mahinda Rajapaksa speaking at the
opening of the multi fuel combined cycle power plant at
Kerawalapitiya yesterday said that the Government will focus on how
the consumers are to be relieved from the burden of higher
electricity bills soon.

Fonseka will be indicted under civil law
General Sarath Fonseka will be indicted under the
civil law in Sri Lanka within the next two weeks, Export Development

Navy brings released fishermen safely home
The Sri Lanka Navy brought 22 Sri Lankan
fishermen safely home after their release from Indian custody on
Wednesday. The fishermen and four fishing vessels were handed over
to SLN officials by Indian Coast Guard Ship Kittur Chenamma at the
Indo-Sri Lanka International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) in the
seas north of Kankesanthurai.
