France denies paying Al-Qaeda ransom
France denied Wednesday that it had paid a ransom
to ensure the release of one of its citizens held by Al-Qaeda, while
three Spanish and two Italian hostages remain held by the militants.
Egypt, Iraq talk bilateral relations
Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak discussed with
Iraqi Vice- President Tareq Al-Hashemi the status of their relations
and the pre-elections situation in Iraq marked by violence.
Search resumes for Indonesian landslide victims
Rescuers with sniffer dogs resumed the grim
search for survivors on Thursday after a landslide in Indonesia
buried dozens of people, with 17 now confirmed dead.
