Inter-International Schools Athletic Championship from March 5 to 7

The Inter-International Schools Athletic Championship is the most important co-curricular event in the school calendar of all International Schools. Lyceum International School, Nugegoda, Sri Lanka has been entrusted with the task of organizing the ISAC - 2010.

This event is to be held at the Sugathadasa International Stadium Colombo from March 5 to 7, 2010 form 8.30 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. each day, under International rules and regulations including electronic timing and measurements, under qualified AA Technical Officers.

Around 3,500 Athletes of eight (8) age categories for Boys and Girls from 21 International Schools, are due to compete, while over 350 qualified Technical Officers, would conduct the competitions, under the rules of the Amateur Athletic Association of Sri Lanka and in accordance with the Association of International Schools regulations.

Events at the meet will be held in the following age groups: Under 07 boys and girls, Under 09 boys and girls, Under 11 boys and girls, Under 13 boys and girls, Under 15 boys and girls, Under 17 Boys and Girls, Under 19 Boys and Girls, Under 20 Boys and Girls.

The following are the competing schools, Alethea Internationals School, Asian International School, Belvoir College International, British School-Colombo, Burhani Serendib School, Colombo International School, Kandy, Colombo International School, Colombo, College of World Education, Elizabeth Moir International School, Gateway College, Colombo, Gateway College, Kandy, Ikra International School, Leeds International School, Panadura, Leighton Park International School, Lyceum International School, Nugegoda, Lyceum International School, Wattala, OKI International School, Royal Institute, St. Nicholas International School, Stafford International School, Wycherley International School.

Ms. Susanthika Jayasinghe, Olympic Medal winner, will be the Chief Guest at the Opening Ceremony on March 5 at 8 a.m. Major General Palitha Fernando, President of the Amateur Athletic Association of Sri Lanka will be the Chief Guest at the Closing Ceremony on March 7 at 2.40 p.m.

Mohan Lal Grero the Chairperson of the ISAC 2010 and Mrs. Kumari Grero, Coordinating Principal of the Lyceum International Schools and the Deputy Chairperson of the ISAC 2010 and the Principals of the all Participating Schools will be present at the closing ceremony.
