India PM hails Tendulkar

India's Prime Minister Manmohan Singh congratulated Sachin Tendulkar on his record-breaking innings in one-day international cricket on Wednesday.

Tendulkar recorded the highest innings in one-day cricket by hammering an unbeaten 200 in the second match against South Africa in Gwalior.

"The prime minister has congratulated Tendulkar on his achieving the highest score and the first double-century in one-day internationals," a press release from the prime minister's office said. AFP
