The Sri Lanka Jathika Peramuna has come forward to offer strength to the Government elected to power said its leader Ven. Udawatte Nanda Thera speaking after handing over nominations of his group at the Kandy district Secretariat yesterday to contest the forthcoming General Election from the Kandy district.

He said the masses in the hill country have joined hands to support President Mahinda Rajapaksa in his national development program. The Sri Lanka Jathika Peramuna's prime objective was to follow a humanistic political vision.

A large number of clergy and laity have today flocked round his party to support its endeavour shedding all petty differences.
