Nepal bans poultry import

NEPAL: Import of bird and poultry products has been banned in Nepal’s Kanchanpur considering it as a high alert area in connection to avian influenza. The district has open border to India.

According to Sunday’s The Rising Nepal daily Sunday, after this, one has to get permission for the transport of birds and poultry products from livestock quarantine specialist as an effort to prevent the virus entering from India, said chief officer of the Livestock Service Office Madan Dhami.
