The 60th death anniversary of founder of
Lake House D. R. Wijewardena was observed at Lake House
yesterday under the patronage of Lake House Chairman Bandula
Padmakumara and the Lake House Buddhist Society. Yesterday’s
religious ceremony was attended by Ven. Bambarende Soratha,
Chief Incumbent of the Dematagoda Panchamaha Vihara; Narahenpita
Rajayatana Bauddhayatanadipathi Ven. Dr. Wahumuwe Wijayawansa;
Ven. Prof. Iththademeliye Indasara of Sri Lanka Buddhist and
Pali University; Ven. Goluwamulle Jinaratana, Chief Incumbent of
Miriswatte Buddhist Centre; Ven. Dr. Mawwe Dhammarakkhita of the
Sri Lanka Buddhist and Pali University and several members of

SLRC Chief Executive Officer resigns
Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation Chief Executive Officer Karunaratne
Paranavitana has resigned to contest the Parliamentary elections as a
UPFA candidate.
Missing
The person appearing in the photograph Krishnan Kapildev, the son of
Krishnan Sumathrathev of 811/08 A, Kanthi Mawatha, Wattala has gone
missing from the above address. He is 27 years old, 5’3” in height with
a well-built physique. His left hand is little bent.
Any information leading to his whereabouts may be passed onto Police
Headquarters, Colombo or to nearest police station.
The person in the photograph Madadeniyagedara Premadasa, husband of
M.G. Leelawathie of 152, Marathugoda, Pujapitiya is missing from home
since February 09, 2010.
He is 68 years old and 5’5” in height with grey hair and fair
complexioned. He is lean and wears a moustache. He was last seen wearing
a light green short sleeved shirt and a brown batik sarong.
Any information leading to this person may be passed onto the nearest
police station or Police Headquarters, Colombo.
Workshop
The one day workshop on ‘costing and pricing’ organised by the
Association of Small and Medium Enterprises Developers (SMED) will be

The first Canadian tourist group after 30
years of civil war arrived in the country recently. This tour
was organized by Traditours of Canada and Lion Royal Tourisme of
Sri Lanka. The first group from Traditours was welcomed by Nilan
