Divisional Secretariats play pivotal role in development

Divisional Secretariat officers play a pivotal role in expediting and carrying forward the national development process launched by the Mahinda Chintana of President Mahinda Rajapaksa former Home Affairs Minister Chandrasiri Gajadeera said.

He made these observations at a well-attended meeting.

He also opened the Kamburapitiya Divisional Secretariat Office building complex and the Vidhata Resource Centre, at Ratalankawatta in Kamburupitiya. The Government under the leadership of President Mahinda Rajapaksa eradicated terrorist menace that plagued the country for over 30 years.

All necessary facilities have currently been provided to Divisional Secretariat offices to promptly attend to the needs and requirements of the people visiting these offices to get their matters resolved. Under this if all particulars necessary are furnished a birth certificate could be issued in less than a minute Gajadeera stated. Most of the Divisional Secretariat offices in the Matara district have been replaced with newly constructed building complexes.

The Home Affairs Ministry focusing attention in building village secretariats with the hope of providing all state services vital for the people under one roof former Minister Gajadeera further added.
