Polls Chief meets staff tomorrow

Elections Commissioner Dayananda Dissanayake is due to meet all election staff tomorrow to finalize arrangements pertaining to nominations for the General Elections, Additional Commissioner of Elections W.P. Sumanasiri said.

These include all Returning Officers, Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners of all districts. The meeting will be held at the Elections Commissioner’s Office in Rajagiriya. Parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held on April 8. The 13th Parliament (also known as the 6th Parliament) was dissolved by President Mahinda Rajapaksa on February 9. Nominations are to be accepted between February 19 and 26.
