No reactionary force can retract people’s support to Govt
The Government, with the strength of the Presidential Election
victory, will get a two thirds majority in Parliament at the forthcoming
General Election to be held in April. No reactionary force can retract
the public support arrayed behind this massive victory at the
Parliamentary Election, Local Government and Provincial Councils
Minister Janaka Bandara Thennakoon said.
The Minister was addressing the villagers assembled at the
commissioning of several rural electrification projects in Galewala AGA
division recently.
These rural electrification projects were funded by the SIDA of
Sweden Government and near 400 families in Ihala Diggela and Pahala
Diggala would benefit from this project. The project cost is Rs. 13.2
million.
Despite the fact that the villagers had misgivings over the delay in
the commissioning of this project, politics of Thennekoon had never been
of false promises. We have never misled people.
That’s why you are getting this facility today, the Minister said.
He also stressed that the Government would contemplate changing the
Constitution with the two thirds majority. Central Provincial Councillor
Pramitha Bandara Thennekoon, Galewela Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman M. P. R.
P. Jayathilake were also present. |
