Job dream abroad ends in death

A man who went to obtain a passport was found clubbed to death at the veranda of a house in Egodalanda, Naotunna Friday morning.

K. Sunil Shantha, 29, a resident of Wewagodawatte, Naotunna left his home at around 2.30 a.m. for Colombo.

"Sunil who was seeking foreign employment left home to hand over the police report to the Foreign Employment Bureau and obtain a passport," police spokesman SP Prishantha Jayakody said.

Sunil had walked along Gammaduwa Road to get into a bus in Kottegoda. He was found dead at the veranda of a house in Egodalanda at around 3.30 a.m.

"Sunil was clubbed to death by unknown suspect," he added.

Gandara police are conducting investigating.
