No force can scuttle President’s people-friendly
programs:
Country’s forward march unstoppable

The people-friendly programs launched by President Mahinda Rajapaksa
cannot either be obstructed or turn back, neither by Sarath Fonseka nor
his henchmen Sabaragamuwa Chief Minister Maheepala Herath said.
He was addressing several meetings in Kegalle town and Ruwanwella
area.
The meetings were organised to thank the voters who did their best to
give a thumping majority of over one hundred and thirty thousand votes
giving the President Rajapaksa a resounding victory by the voters of
Kegalle district alone.
United People’s Freedom Alliance members of Ruwanwella Yatiyantota
and Deraniyagala electorates were addressed by the Chief Minister at
Ruwanwella while a mass rally was organised at Molamure Mawatha in
Kegalle to address and thank the voters of Kegalle, Galigamuwa,
Mawanella and Aranayake electorates.
Chief Minister Herath said since 1994 he has been contesting and
doing organisational work of the SLFP and dedicated himself for the well
keeping of the SLFP supporters at all times and specially for the
development activities of the youths in the district.
He said Kegalle district was once considered as a UNP fortress but
gradually this belief among the people was shattered and the voting
strength was increased to a majority of over one hundred and thirty
thousand votes for the UPFA.
He said the correct and honest leadership has resulted the gradual
enhancing of the voter base of the UPFA in the Kegalle district.
The extended development activities of the Provincial Council in all
villages has brought up this tremendous transformation making the United
People’s Freedom Alliance triumph in the Kegalle District.
The President of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Youths Organisation
Kanaka Herath said President Rajapaksa will take steps to provide a much
better future through making the youth participate in the development
process of the country creating a bright and a prosperous future for all
youths.
Venerable Kitulgala Dhammadassai Thera, Ekiriyagala Nanda Thera,
Nuwara Eliya Vijitha Thera, Hinneliye Rathanasara Thera and the former
chief organiser of the United National Party and a former chairman of
Kegalle Urban Council Jude Perera, UNP UC member Cyril Munasinghe and UC
member H. U. R. Nissanka were also among the speakers. |
