Prince of Wales College Moratuwa took first innings honours over S.
Thomas’ College in their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match
which ended in a draw at Mount Lavinia yesterday.
Prince of Wales: 150 and 103 for 6 (B. de Alwis 41, S. Fernando 23,
N. Wickremasekera 4 for 33, L. Peiris 2 for 27).
S. Thomas’: 128 (K.. Perera 31, N. Kavindu 44, N. Peiris 4 for 20, M.
Mendis 2 for 25, S. Jayasuriya 2 for 25).
Udesh, Pathum prop up Ananda
Two splendid half centuries from Udesh Nadiranga and Pathum Madushan
helped Ananda College reach 245 for 9 in their first innings on the
opening day of their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match
against St. Benedict’s College which commenced at Kotahena yesterday.
Ananda: 245 for 9 decl (P. Madushan 64 n.o, U. Nadiranga 55, M.
Rasuwan 29, D. Wanigasuriya 3 for 42, J. Perera 3 for 57, D. Perera 2
for 47).
St. Benedict’: 24 for no loss.
Thurstan amass 292 for 8
Three good half centuries from Udara Munasinghe (70), Prabodha
Arthavindu (66) and Tarindu Silva (51 n.o) helped Thurstan College amass
a formidable 292 for 8 in their first innings on the opening day of
their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match against Kingswood
College Kandy which began at the Thurstan ground yesterday.
