First ever Halaal Conference on Feb 16
UTO EduConsult, which brought the first Sri Lanka Islamic Banking &
Finance Conference, announced another landmark event - The Inaugural Sri
Lanka “Halaal” Conference.
This event designed to discuss the many aspects of the concept of
“Halaal” will be held in Colombo on February 16 and 17 at the Galadari
Hotel.
With a vital and key partnership with the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul
Ulama, the conference will endeavour to bring about a better
understanding of the ‘Halaal’ concept, with expert speakers sharing
their experiences on a wide range of topics.
It will be the first such gathering in Sri Lanka, of speakers from
diverse industries.
In addition, the platform will also provide an opportunity to the
suppliers of “Halaal” products and services to enhance their product
visibility and also to share their insights and perspectives of the
“Halaal” sector.
The main Conference on the first day will be chaired by the
Singapore-based CEO of Crescent Rating, Fazal Bahardeen, and consists of
a lineup of eminent speakers including Mowlana Ebrahim I Bham. of the
South Africa Jamiyyathul Ulama and Mowlana M S Navlakhi of the South
African National Halaal. Authority, who will shed some light on Halaal
trading in a Non-Muslim market. Panel discussions are also designed to
cover as many aspects of the concept of “Halaal” in the various
industries. In addition to the Food industry, the conference will also
focus on another market of immense relevance to the Sri Lankan market -
Halaal Tourism.
Businesses will also be given the opportunity to showcase their
products at an exhibition that is open to the public on February 16.
The second day will comprise of two Masterclasses that aim to create
awareness and know-how on incorporating Halaal methods and processes.
