Kuwait Airways Colombo celebrates fifth frequency

Kuwait Airways will increase their flights to Colombo adding a fifth frequency.

Senior manager Srilanka and Maldives Dherar Al Nassar said Kuwait airways marketing department has decided to increase the frequency in keeping with current boost in both inbound and outbound tourism and considering the current load factor which the airline average over 85 percent.

The airlines fifth frequency will be operated with an Airbus A300-600 version which could accommodate 214 passengers in economy and 18 in business class.

The new flight will leave Colombo every Sunday at 4.55am and will offer connections to all European and USA destinations.

District Sales Manager Sudesh Rupasinghe said that “We have enjoyed spectacular growth over the years and it has continued this winter with introduction 5th Frequency together with immediate connection to Rome & New York.

Kuwait airways holidays have been very aggressively promoting Sri Lanka worldwide offering very attractive package holidays to the country.

“With the dawn of peace and travel restrictions to the country being lifted Sri Lanka is one of the most sought after destinations among Kuwait travellers. Many expatriates who are based in Kuwait too patronizing these packages,” District Sales Manager, Kuwait Airways, Sudesh Rupasinghe said.

He said that the airline is also offering free lounge facilities in Colombo for passengers travelling to Europe, USA and Kuwait airways is only airline to provide this facility for economy class passengers addition to the attractive fares offered to above destination which has become a popular choice among Srilankans.

Kuwait Airways was one of the first Gulf carriers to fly to Sri Lanka commencing their operations to Colombo from 1979 while a General Sales Agent (GSA) for the airline was appointed in 1968 showing its commitment to Sri Lanka.
