Gampola Viharadhipathi killing:
Suspects remanded

The two suspects arrested in connection with the killing of two
persons including the Viharadhipathi of the Sri Bodhirukkharamaya,
Thembiligala, Gampola on the day after the Presidential Election were
produced before Gampola Additional District Judge Viraj Bandara
Ranatunga yesterday and remanded till February 12.
The two suspects are Prasanna Dharmapriya an army deserter and
Chaminda Dharmapriya.
Viharadhipathi Ven. Matara Wimalananda Thera and Vasantha Kumara, a
UPFA supporter were killed when a grenade was hurled at the Viharaya on
January, 27. Police said three other suspects including a JVP Pradeshiya
Sabha Member were also wanted in this connection. Gampola Police are
investigating.
