Poor loser

Bets were held on the outcome of the Presidential Election for money, shaving of heads and for many other wagers with many ending up losers and had to pay the price for it.

Here comes a different story from a village off Ampitiya.

Two persons both die-hard supporters had argued on the results of the Presidential Election and this ended up in an election bet and the loser had to wear a board declaring the name of the winner and other details.

The Presidential Election was over and the loser had gone into hiding for the shame of having to display the board around his neck in public.

Finally, he was tracked down by the winner who did not demand for his 'pound of flesh.'

The winner said he did not want to humiliate the loser in any way as the people of the area were already aware about the punishment.

Besides this, the loser had gone into hiding in fear of being exposed and was under going self torture as his favourite candidate had lost badly. What bigger punishment could be imposed on the loser, he said.

Saying this he had forgiven the loser with a bit of advice "Look before you leap" and do not take blind decisions.
