Computer Society elects new council
The 21st Annual General Meeting of the Computer Society of Sri Lanka
was held on December 11, 2009 at Galadari Hotel Colombo.
The new council for the year 2010 was elected at this meeting.

The President for 2010 Chrisantha Silva said 2010 will be another
year of many successful events for the Computer Society of Sri Lanka.
The Computer Society started various projects in 2009 and will
continue with most of these projects in 2010.
Some of these projects such as the annual National IT Conference and
the National Schools Software Competition are of national interest.
The Computer Society plays a critical role in promoting
professionalism among the IT professionals in Sri Lanka. It has
introduced various programs and events for the benefit of professionals
to develop their skills that are much needed in the industry and to get
technical knowledge in their profession. The Computer Society is
planning to have Special Interest Groups, workshops and seminars for its
membership.
As a professional organization the Computer Society has a
responsibility to serve both its members and also the ICT community of
Sri Lanka.
The CSSL will also concentrate on how to bring ICT to more
communities of our country to minimize the digital divide.
The Computer Society of Sri Lanka was inaugurated in 1976. Since then
it has been playing a major role in promoting Information Technology and
professionalism among those engaged in the field of ICT in the country
for the past 33 years. |
