Chaturanga (4 for 57) restricts Thomians to 192

Opening bowler Chaturanga Kumara snapped up four wickets for 57 as St. Joseph's College dismissed their opponents S. Thomas' College for 192 runs in their first innings on the opening day of their 106th annual inter school under 19 cricket tournament match which commenced at Mount Lavinia yesterday.

S. Thomas: 192 (B. Dharmasena 20, K. Perera 20, P. Wijewardena 41, S. Peiris 25, C. Pathirana 33, L. Peiris 20, D. Dhambarage 2 for 42, C. Kumara 4 for 57, R. Thathil 2 for 18, S. Jayatilleke 2 for 41).

St. Joseph's: 79 for 2 (E. Silva 25 n.o, C. Pathirana 2 for 9).

St. Benedict's College were well set to build up a massive first innings lead after they hit up 264 and reduced their opponents St. Sebastian's College, Moratuwa to 84 for 9 in their first innings on the opening day of their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match which commenced at Kotahena yesterday.

St. Benedict's: 264 (N. Fonseka 56, R. Weerasinghe 49, D. Angelo 42, S. Patterson 33, A. Aponso 5 for 80, S. de Mel 2 for 46).

Ananda struggling at 115 for 5

Ananda College were struggling at 115 for 5 in reply to St. Anthony's first innings total of 212 runs on the opening day of their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match which commenced at Ananda Mawatha yesterday.

St. Anthony's: 212 (B. Ranaraja 54, M. Ranaraja 34, A. Riyal 29, A. Premaratne 29, T. Wijesuriya 4 for 31, M. Perera 3 for 29, S. Perera 3 for 21).

Left arm spinner Anushka Samaratunga captured another four wicket haul as Isipatana College dismissed their opponents Zahira College for 160 runs in their first innings on the opening day of their inter-school under 19 cricket tournament match which commenced at Maradana yesterday.

Prince of Wales College after being dismissed for 146 runs hit back strongly to reduce Wesley College to 88 for 7 in their first innings on the opening day of their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match which commenced at Campbell Park yesterday.

Prince of Wales: 146 (I. Thisara 37, I. de Mel 24, S. Fernando 24, D. Wijesinghe 5 for 21).
