President promises to uplift plantation community lives

President Mahinda Rajapaksa had assured that he would do everything to uplift the lives of the plantation workers when he met a delegation of the Upcountry People’s Front on January 28 at Temple Trees.

The delegation consisted of UPF Chairperson Shandinidevi Chandraskeran, UPF Vice President and Vocational Training Deputy Minister P. Radhakrishnan and others.

According to the UPF sources, they discussed housing, wage, infrastructure and community development issues of the plantation community.

During an hour long discussion the President was informed of the urgent needs of the plantation workers.

The UPF extended its fullest support to the President and congratulated him on his re-election at the Presidential Poll. M.P.M
