Royal under 13 enter semi-finals

Royal College, Colombo ‘C’ entered the semi-finals of the Schools
under 13 Division III cricket tournament when they registered an easy 80
run win over Amupitiya National School, Udispathuwa from the foothills
of the Knuckles Range in the quarter final match played at St. Anthony’s
College, Katugastota on Wednesday.
Royal College taking first strike after losing a couple of early
wickets recovered to total 136 in 36 overs. G.N. Karunaratne top scored
with 34 which included 3 Fours. Medium pacer Jayantha Bandara bowled
best to capture 4 for 24.
Amupitiya National School in their turn at the wickets fared
disastrously against the strategy employed by the Royalists and were
routed for 56 in 22 overs.
Most of the batsmen were dismissed for low scores or without scoring.
C.K. Rajapakse 3 for 15 and C.N.A. Hathurusinghe 3 for 3 were the pick
of the Royal bowlers.
