'President exhibited remarkable diplomacy'

The diplomacy, President Mahinda Rajapaksa exhibited in managing international pressure is remarkable, said Media, Informations Enterprise Development and Investment Promotions Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa.

He asked those who pressurized to stop the operations and enter into a CFA with the LTTE to mind their own business. They had no authority to interfere into the internal affairs of the country, said the Minister.

Such a leader is a pride to the nation.

He was speaking at a meeting held at Wadumunnegedara in the Katugampola Electoral Division.

He said the people should discard political differences and support President Mahinda Rajapaksa as a mark of gratitude for his leadership given for the unification of the country.

"You can imagine the plight of the country had President Mahinda Rajapaksa not been elected to the Presidency in 2005.

The hauls of weapons unearthed during operations and afterwards indicate the expectation of Prabhakaran" he said.

"He would not be satisfied with Eelam in the North and East. He wanted to capture the whole country".

The Minister said apart from the restoration of peace unifying the country as pledged in 2005, the President grants the fertilizer subsidy to the cultivators. Mahinda Rajapaksa is a leader who honoured the pledges given in 2005. The people can keep confidence on him, he said.
