Pro-imperialist Ranil, choice of JVP - Weerawansa
Sanjaya Asela Mathurata
Pro-imperialist Ranil Wickremesinghe has now become the choice of the
JVP.
The creation of a common candidate who could agree on vital matters
without any hesitation arising between a patriot and a traitor or
between the imperialist and anti-imperialist, for that matter, is a
really a big task which not even the Brahman is capable of, NFF leader
Wimal Weerawansa, MP said the white imperialists captured the country by
making use of the discontent, enmity and rivalry of the elite of the
hill country during the era of Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe.
The same way, today, these imperialists have arrayed Pilimathalawa,
and Ehelapolas of present day before the retired General, Weerawansa
said. NFF leader made the remarks at the 191st commemorative
celebrations of Weera Keppetipola Nilame held at the Udarata Kala
Sangama hall in Kandy recently.
The ceremony was organised by the National Patriotic Movement and Ven.
Mawela Ariyawansa Thera presided.
Though the imperialists made efforts to pursue their agenda by using
the conflict which arose along with the secessionist/terrorism, we were
able to overcome that as a nation. These factors are no more present
today. However, they still make efforts to install puppet regimes of
their choice in countries which oppose them.
At a time when Sri Lanka begins to breathe fresh air of hope after
defeating the scourge of terrorism, they are making every effort to
destabilise the country once again. This is because of the fact that our
country is not ready to dance to the tunes of those imperialists, he
said.
Today the JVP is trying to save democracy by aligning with the party
which killed nearly 60,000 youth in the country in the 80s. Today people
like Ravi Karunanayake, Mano Ganeshan and Rauff Hakeem are carrying
General Fonseka while keeping Ranil Wickremesinghe in the front. This is
the name list of the imperialists, Wimal Weerawansa said.
