* Decline in patients coming to Kandy, Peradeniya Hospitals

* Schools closure help reduce number of patients

Central Province Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake said all schools in the province will continue to remain closed. He said medical specialists in the Central Province had recommended the move by the Central Provincial Council. The Chief Minister said Education Minister Susil Premajayantha had also been informed of the decision.

Ekanayake said that the report of the special team which visited Central Province had been handed over to the Health Ministry Secretary. Provincial Health Services Director Dr. Shanthi Samarasinghe said 15 deaths caused by AH1N1 have been reported from the province.

The number of patients with fever symptoms coming to Kandy and Peradeniya hospitals has decreased. The closure of schools had contributed to the decline of the disease.
