Political novice, Gen (Rtd) Sarath Fonseka making his debut in politics yesterday morning to announce his candidature for the upcoming presidential election, before the local and international media contradicted the policies of the partners in the opposition alliance sending cross currants among the newly formed alliance, brokered by UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe and SLFP discard, Mangala Samaraweera, the Government Information Department website news.lk said.

CP schools closure continue

Central Province records 15 AH1N1 deaths:

Central Province Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake said all schools in the province will continue to remain closed. He said medical specialists in the Central Province had recommended the move by the Central Provincial Council. The Chief Minister said Education Minister Susil Premajayantha had also been informed of the decision.
