Is JVP accepting Regaining Sri Lanka? - Wimal Weerawansa

Wimal Weerawansa

If General Sarath Fonseka contesting the Presidential election with the support of the JVP and UNP was going to accept the economic advice of the UNP it means the return of the Regaining Sri Lanka policy, JNP leader Wimal Weerawansa said.

It is not clear how the JVP could associate itself with an extreme right economic policy centered round the open economy, he added. Was it not a very dubious position, Weerwansa queried. It shows that the JVP was now prepared to rally round an extreme right wing economic policy.

It was a problem for the people why he was appreciating only the economic policies of the UNP, when he was getting assistance of both the UNP and the JVP, Weerawansa added.
