General’s move regrettable - Ven Thera
Asela Kuruluwansa
It is highly regretting to note that General Sarath Fonseka has
joined forces with the parties that gave leadership to alienating Sri
Lanka in the international community through various machinations that
tried to halt Sri Lanka’s war efforts against terrorism, Dean of History
of Peradeniya University Professor Ven. Hanguranketha Dheerananda Thera
said.
At this moment, people should rally round President Rajapaksa to
assure victory so that the narrow motives of these forces could be
defeated, the Ven. Thera said.
The credit of the war victory can’t be claimed by a single person.
Apart from the President, Defence Secretary, Tri-Forces Commanders and
war heroes, the general public are also stakeholders in this historic
victory, the Thera said.
The intelligent people will never allow the derailment of the ongoing
development programs, the Thera said.
