Public sector jobs for plantation youth

Health Deputy Minister and Plantation Workers Congress General Secretary Vadivel Suresh said that the Government had provided 1,782 jobs in the public sector for plantation youth within a short period after he assumed the post as Deputy Minister.

He said that he had taken steps to provide more employment opportunities to the plantation youths. Speaking at a meeting held in Bandarawela Town Hall, the Deputy Minister said he was able to implement social welfare programs amounting to millions of rupees. He said that he would establish a court as well as a full-pledged CTB depot.

Suresh said that 68 estate hospitals were taken over by the Government. 168 persons who underwent training at the Batticaloa Nurses Training Institute would be posted to them.
