Maris Stella athletic champions

The Athletic team of Maris Stella College, Negombo by securing 212 points emerged champions at the fourth Annual Quadrangular Athletic Meet organised by the Maristonians Sports Association. At this athletic meet Trinity College, Kandy by securing 100 points came second while with eighty four points St. Benedict college athletic team was placed third in this tournament, Royal College Colombo with 63 points came fourth.

The best athlete in the Under 11 category was Chaviska Karunarathna of Royal College. Under thirteen the best athlete was Pathum Sasanka of Maris Stella College, Negombo.

In the under fifteen group R.M.G.M.P. Rathnayaka of Trinity College, Kandy and Thilana Chandrasena of Maris Stella College were considered the best athletes. In the Under 17 group M.A.L. Kumara of St. Benedict's college, Kotahena was the best athlete while in the Under 19 category Ishan Sanjaya of Maris Stella College, Hashan Chamara of St. Benedict's College, Kotahena and D.L.R.J. Perera of Trinity College, Kandy were considered as the best athletes.
