Cannabis transporter arrested

A suspect carrying 500 grams of cannabis in a travelling bag was arrested by the Deniyaya police, at Hingurupangala in the Deniyaya police area.

When the police arrived to the spot where the suspect was, he attempted to run but was caught by the policemen and the cannabis seized. On questioning the suspect had told the police that he brought the cannabis from Tanamalvila by bus, police said.
