Ex-teacher nabbed in bogus Kachcheri raid

Anuradhapura Police Crimes Bureau raided a bogus kachcheri run by a 64-year-old retired teacher at Railway town in Medawachchiya-Mannar road and seized 1,500 forged birth certificates, 70 educational certificates and 70 student performance sheets prepared there.

Investigations revealed that the suspects had run this bogus kachcheri since 1990 and sold the forged certificates and performance charts for prices ranging from Rs. 500 to Rs. 3,000.

The suspect was due to be produced in court.

Investigations are continuing directed by crimes OIC Inspector Harsha Silva.
