Two national age group records bettered

Two National Age Group records were bettered in the under 14 boys and
girls categories in the 50m Butterfly stroke by Cherantha de Silva of
Ananda College and Sithari Perera of the British School Of Colombo on
day one of the National and Junior National Aquatic Championship
organised by the Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union at the Sugathadasa
Indoor Swimming Pool yesterday.
Cherantha de Silva broke the existing record (30.27A) with a timing
of (29.93 A) held by Deelaka de Silva which was established in November
2008 while Sithari Perera clocked (32.30 A) to erase the previous
(33.16) held by Minruwani Samarakoon in August 2004.

Women's LC 100 m Breast Stroke: 1. Mineka Karunaratne (AIS) 1.15.51.
