Committee to probe October 9 power failure

The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL), as the regulator of the electricity industry has appointed an expert Committee, to examine and report on the causes for the island-wide power failures on October 9.

The Committee comprises energy expert Dr. Tilak Siyambalapitiya, Committee Chairman, University of Moratuwa Electrical Engineering Department Senior Professor. Rohan Lucas Energy Expert, Jayasiri Karunanayake and Moratuwa University Mechanical Engineering Department Professor Rahula Attalage.

The interim report of the Committee is expected to be submitted to the PUCSL by November 10.
