Students fall sick after drinking water available in school

A group of students of the Thanabaddegama Sarananda Vidyalaya in Elpitiya were suddenly taken ill and admitted to the Elpitiya hospital yesterday.

Some of the male and female students took ill on the noon of the previous day (Wednesday) while others developed symptoms of the same illness yesterday.

Doctors said the students were affected with bouts of vomiting, dizziness and were passing stools greenish in colour.

Doctors also say that the students developed the illness after drinking water available in the school.
