Five 'Prima' Junior matches today

Ten teams will be seen in battle today as the Prima Champions Cup
under 15 Inter - District cricket tournament continues at five venues
around the island, marking another day that adds colour to Sri Lankan
junior cricket.
The Prima Champions Cup got underway last week after a charm yet
colourful ceremony which took place at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground,
Colombo.
The first round is now in progress with the participation of 26 teams
from 24 districts including two teams from Jaffna and Mannar for the
first time in Junior cricket. The first round matches will conclude on
October 26.
Ceylon Agro-Industries Limited, has come forward as the sponsors of
the tournament for the third occasion under the brand name 'Prima' and
they will be sponsoring this event for the next three years too, with
Sri Lanka Cricket being the proud conductors.
The combination of Prima and Sri Lanka Cricket will be a big
advantage for the upcoming cricketers in sharpen their talents, getting
more exposure on field and it will also be a privilege for them to play
under the supervision of the experts.
The skippers of all teams were grateful for organizers and sponsors
as all players were presented with cricket gear prior to the start of
the tournament.
Today's matches:
Group A: Matale Vs Anuradhapura at Bernard Aluvihare Stadium, Matale.
Group B: Colombo South A vs Ratnapura at Moratuwa Vidyalaya grounds.
Group D: Jaffna vs Vavuniya at Hindu College grounds.
Group E: Nuwara Eliya vs Kandy at Pallekele Prisons grounds.
Group F: Colombo North B vs Gampaha. |
