Chinese PM pledges continued assistance to Asian countries
Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka attended the 10th Western
China International Economy and Trade Fair in the capital of Sichuan
Province Chengdu on the invitation of the Provincial Government of the
Sichuan Province.

Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka during his visit to China
addressed the second Western China International Cooperation
Forum in Chengdu on investment opportunities in Sri Lanka.
The Forum was attended by over 500 senior officials and
businessmen from China and business representatives of many
Asian countries. Other important foreign attendees at the Forum
were the Prime Minister of Kenya, Vietnam, East Timor Leste and
Cote d’Ivoire. |
The second Western China International Cooperation Forum was held
concurrently.
The keynote address at the Forum was given by Chinese Premier, Wen
Jiabao who in the course of his speech detailed the policies pursued by
China to further develop its economy and bring social equity to all
provinces of China. He gave a solemn pledge that China would continue to
assist neighbouring Asian countries with further development assistance
and would also help them to improve their trade balances with China. |
