Janashakthi rewards top performers
Janashakthi Insurance PLC held a Mid-Year Awards Ceremony at the
Chaaya Ellaihdoo Resort in the Maldives recently to mark its 15th
anniversary.
Over 75 top performers who qualified for the awards were flown to
Mal‚ to attend the awards ceremony as part of an all-expenses-paid ‘gala
weekend of reward and recognition’.
Janashakthi Sales and Marketing General Manager Ravi Liyanage said
that this was the first time that a local insurance company hosted an
Awards Ceremony overseas. “The morale among our sales team was positive
and high. These mid-year awards were in addition to our annual awards
and made all our sales personnel feel part of one large family.”
Liyanage said that an exercise of this nature proved to be a
successful motivational tool. “It gave the management time away from the
stress of deadlines and reaching targets, in fact away from the country,
to spend time with the team to share and discuss ideas. There was a lot
we learnt from each other during this period. The team is now highly
motivated and refreshed to reach greater heights in the months to come”,
he said.
Janashakthi’s Metro Branch swept the boards with eleven award winners
while the Highest Zone was the Western Zone also with eleven award
winners. The top Gold Awards were mostly won by City Branch which won a
total of five Golds in different categories.
Head of Marketing Paddy Weerasekera said, in addition to the gala
awards night, the Sales Team also indulged in a lot of sports,
recreation and team building activities.
Among them were cricket, volleyball, snorkeling, and the novel
experience of sunset fishing. They were also taken to the capital Male
for a day’s excursion and shopping.

Lifebuoy’s school awareness campaign
‘Lifebuoy’s school awareness campaign’ and public awareness
initiatives took place aiming to raise awareness of this life-saving
habit.
Lifebuoy is working with the Health Education Bureau and the Ministry
of Healthcare and Nutrition, bringing 1500 schools and 5000 pre-schools
and medical clinics in Sri Lanka together, to help children across the
country become the cleanest through awareness-raising and educational
activities about this simple hygiene habit.
Global Handwashing Day is part of Lifebuoy’s commitment to health and
hygiene. Lifebuoy is committed to spreading the global handwashing
message by continuing to invest and dedicate time into local projects
such as school awareness campaign.
Last year this project had reached over 1,000,000 children and this
year it aimed to reach 1.3 million children.
Lifebuoy Brand manager Kasun Liyanage said: “Every parent wants their
child to do the best they can and make sure they reach their potential,
so the less time they miss from school the better. Clean hands can help
prevent your child swallowing any horrible germs that will make them
sick.”
