NYSC to introduce new VB camp

The National Youth Services Council has introduced a new Volleyball
training camp to attract school boys and girls under 15 to Volleyball.
The project will be implemented islandwide covering North and East too.
It will be a two day camp with national level coaches. 50 girls and
50 boys will be selected for a camp.
Most of the schools are lacking VB coaches. To meet this shortage the
NYSC had launched this project. At the end of the camp a pool will be
formed. The NYSC will organise an All Island under 15 volleyball
tournament. "Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation will supply national level
coaches for the camps," the Chairman, Director General of the NYSC and
Deputy Chairman of the Federation Bhaswara Senanka Gunaratne told the
'Daily News'.
The first camp of this project will be held on October 16 and 17 at
Homagama Central College with 100 players (girls and boys) from 10
schools from Homagama Secretariat Division.
Pitipana Lion's clubs, Homagama Provincial Youth Clubs federation,
Homagama Central College Volleyball Union will jointly sponsor the
training camp.
