More Sisudiriya clubs for East

Under the Uthuru Vasanthaya program, a training program for establishing Sisudiriya Clubs to boost the morale and develop intelligence and cultural values of schoolchildren is being held from October 12 to 16 in the Vavuniya District.

The Sisudiriya commenced under a concept of President Mahinda Rajapaksa after the tragic Kebithigollewa bomb blast in 2006. The program assists schoolchildren to develop their minds while reducing the stress caused by the terror activities of the LTTE such as bomb blasts.

The Ordinary Level and the Advanced Level students are eligible to participate in the program. The education and the mental balance of the students who were victims of terrorist activities had been badly affected.

Steps will be taken to rebuild their minds through the Sisudiriya program.

Sisudiriya clubs will be established for students studying in 10 schools in Vavuniya in the Southern Education Zone.
