Minimization of post harvest losses:

Second delegation to Thailand

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka will send the second delegation for training on Minimization of Post Harvest Losses and Modern Packaging Systems targeting those involved in fruits and vegetables production, processing and transportation.

The Chamber has been invited by the Thai Packaging Centre to send a delegation for a five day training course from December 14-19 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Thailand practises advanced techniques on minimization of post harvest losses in their agriculture and floriculture thus having almost a negligible percentage of post harvest losses as against the very high percentage that Sri Lanka has.

Members of the earlier delegation sent by the National Chamber a few months ago for training benefited immensely through their training and they now practise what they learnt successfully in Sri Lanka.

The training will be provided at concessionary rates to the National Chamber members by the Thai Packaging Centre on a mutual understanding between the two organizations.
