Sebastianites in 81-48 win over De Mazenod

St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa beat De Mazenod College Kandana by 81 points to 48 in the All Island School Basketball Tournament match played at S. thomas’ College Courts Mount Lavinia.

St. Sebastian’s College was in the lead by 37 points to 18 at half time (Samitha de Mel (21 points) and Diluk Fernando (20 points) made Valuable contributions for the winners while Charith scored 28 points for De Mazenod College.

St. Peter’s College, Colombo defeated Lyceum International school, Nugegoda by 69 points to 60. St Peter’s was in the lead by 34 points to 31 at half time.

Lakshan Samarasinghe scored 23 points and Senal Dias got 17 points for St. Peter’s.

Rumesh Senanayake was the highest scorer for Lyceum College.

St. Benedict’s College routed Maris Stella Negombo by 79 points to 71 in another All Island School game played at the same venue.

St. Benedict’s College was in the lead by 39 points to 27 at half time.

Roistan Quyn (22 points) and Clinton Stalon (23 points) helped St. Benedict’s to victory over the Negombo boys. Anush Abay bagged 23 points for Maris Stella.

Meanwhile Prince of wales overcame S. Thomas’, Mt. Lavinia by 76 points to 54, after leading by 39 points to 29 at half time.

Chanaka Madushan (29 points), Gihan Shorinda (16 points) and Tharindu Sankalpa (10 points) made useful contributions for the winners while Shaweel Kapuwatte was the top scorer for S. Thomas’ Sudarahana Muthutantri got 13 and Diluk De Silva obtained 11 points for S. Thomas’ College.
