Policemen learn French

The Police Department with the assistance of the Official Languages Department conducted a six month training course to educate the Police personnel in French Language.

Inspector General of Police Jayantha Wickremaratne distributing certificates for 16 police personnel who had completed the course said this is the first time in Police Department history a French language course was conducted.

The awards ceremony was held at the IGP's Chambers at the Police Headquarters, Colombo recently with the participation of Senior DIG N.K. Ilangakoon, Police Tourist Division Director Senior SP Adikari Kaluarachchi, Official Languages Department Commissioner Senarath Gunasena and Course Director Dinusha Perera.
