‘The Buddha’s way shows eternal solutions to problems’

It is only through the Buddha’s way that we can find eternal solutions to various problems that arise from time to time, Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka said. He was addressing a gathering at Olaboduwa Sri Jayawardanarama Viharaya in Horana.

The Prime Minister planted a Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi sapling at the vihara premises. He also participated in the opening of a sermon hall.

”When one comes to this world he or she has many responsibilities. Among those responsibilities, respecting and safeguarding the motherland and respecting his or her religion come first,” Prime Minister Wickramanayaka added.

Dhamma School education has been badly affected by tuition classes conducted on Sundays. Many parties have requested the Government to take necessary steps on this issue.

“However, it is contradictory to legislation. We have to establish a society which observes the five precepts.

Then only, we can live harmoniously with our relatives, neighbours and also with neighbouring countries. Finally, no one should be a burden to society,” the Prime Minister noted.
