Kotalawela granted bail

Colombo Fort Magistrate and Additional District Judge Gihan Pilapitiya granted bail for Ceylinco Group Chairman Lalith Kotalawela.

The Judge directed Chairman Kotalawela to furnish cash bail in a sum of Rs. 200,000 and bond of Rs. 5 million with two sureties. Lalith Kotalawela submitted an affidavit stating that he is willing to settle the depositors.

Deputy Solicitor General Yasantha Kodagoda appeared for the prosecution with CID Inspector I.D.S. Weerasinghe.

President’s Counsel Reinzie Arasacularatne with Kalinga Indatissa, Wasantha Batagoda, Anurudha Perera appeared for the Ceylinco Chairman.

The case will be called again on October 20.
