Indices up

The value of all listed stocks topped Rs 1 trillion as the indices at the CSE continued to notch up gains.

The ASPI gained 29 points (+1percent) to close at 3,128 while the more liquid MPI gained 39 points (+1.1percent) to close at 3,547 yesterday.

Total market capitalization now stands at Rs 1,003 billion while the value of all business conducted yesterday came to Rs 1.2 billion.

Turnover came from Dialog Telekom ( Turnover of Rs 136 million), ACL Cables (Turnover of Rs 85 million) and Commercial Bank voting shares (turnover of Rs 83 million). Commercial Bank’s non voting shares though lost 50 cents to close at Rs 121.50.

Gains in the market were also driven by Carson Cumberbatch, Bukit Darah, Cargills and Ceylon Theatres.
