Bhanuka hits sparkling 154 n.o.

Sri Lanka under 19 vice captain Bhanuke Rajapakse hit a sparkling unbeaten 154 to steer the Sri Lanka under 19 teem to a convincing seven wicket win over the Australian under 19 team in the second one-day International played at the Gardens Oval in Darwin, Australia on Sunday.

The elegant left hander from Royal College, Colombo hammered eight sixes and 14 boundaries in his innings off only 111 deliveries and was associated in a third wicket stand of 168 with Romesh Buddhika (57). Buddhika from Mahinda College, Galle continued his good form with the bat and had six hits to the ropes during his 71 ball stay at the wicket.

Earlier the Australian under 19 team which opted to bat firce after winning the toss scored 258 for eight wickets in their 50 overs helped by a fine knock of 133 by James Maddison who had 11 hits to the ropes and four over it having faced 133 deliveries.

Australia under 19 252 for eight wickets in 50 overs (James Maddison 133, Ben Douglas 24, Jason Floros 22, Sam Whiteman 15, Chathura Peiris 3 for 58)

Sri Lanka under 19 254 for 3 in 37.5 overs (Bhanuka Rajapakse 154 not out, Romesh Buddhika 57)
