Aussie pacemen trouble Kiwis

The 79th All Island Schools Senior Athletic Championships for the Sir John Tarbat Trophy organised by the Schools Athletis Association is due commence on October 7 and conclude on October 9 at the Sugathadasa stadium. The event is sponsored by Nestle Lanka Limited the distributers of ‘Milo’.

Renown SC moves to top spot

Renown Sports Club for the first time came onto the top of the points table when they trained Jupiter SC 6-2 in their Dialog champions league encounter played in Negombo on Sunday. Renown SC were tied for the second place with Ratnam SC with both teams having obtained 10 points each. But the victory over Jupitors SC in Group ‘A’ put them ahead of the leaders Sri Lanka Air Force who led the table with 12 points Renown at the Lemons had a fine lead 4-0 and went onto add two more goals in the second session, while their opponents two scored two goals.
