Ministers meet Maha Sangha

Export Development and International Trade Minister, Prof. G.L. Peiris and Justice and Law Reforms Minister, Milinda Moragoda had discussions with Maha Sangha comprising the Maha Sangha Advisory Committee of the Justice Ministry, on issues relating to the GSP+ facility and development of the economy.

At this meeting, the Mahanayaka Theras informed the Ministers to continue the discussions with the European Union on the extension of the GSP+ facility which will benefit Sri Lanka and Minister Peiris informed them that the President has appointed a committee consisting of four Ministers for the purpose and that discussions were held with the relevant authorities for the extension of the facility.

Maha Sangha who took part in the discussion were Amarapura Maha Sangha Sabha President Ven. Kotugoda Dhammawasa Maha Thera, Kotte Sri Samagree Sangha Sabha Vice President Ven. Ittepane Dhammalankara Maha Thera, Kelaniya Rajamaha Viharadhipathi Ven. Dr. Kollupitiye Mahinda Sangharakkhitha Maha Thera, Kotte Sri Naga Viharadhipathi, Ven. Maduluwawe Sobhitha Maha Thera, Sinhala Dictionary Editor Ven. Akuretiye Nanda Thera, Siyam Nikaye Rangiri Dhambulu Sector Maha Nayaka Thera Most Ven. Inamaluwe Sumangala, Wellawatte Fredrikarama Viharadhipathi Ven. Ahangama Ananda Thera, Maradana Sri Lanka Viharadhipathi, Ven. Nagoda Amarawansa Thera, Kadugannawa Sama Viharadhipathi, Goluwamulle Gnanananda Thera, Justice and Law Reforms Ministry Secretary Suhada Gamlath, and other senior officers of the Ministry.
