Galadari sparkles October:

The Galadari Hotel celebrates 25 years of exemplary service synonymous with glamour and sophistication, hosting many famous guests since it first opened its doors in 1984 and in this month of October the night skies of Colombo will be illuminated as celebrations get going to make this silver year a memorable one.

The hotel which initially was managed by the Meridien Group, the famous French hotel brand, was later managed for a brief period by J.W.Marriott. The owning company, the Galadari Brothers took over the reins from 1994 onwards and has managed the hotel with Sri Lankan expertise over the last 15 years.

The hotel has 725 persons who care for the many guests who walk through their doors every day. The Galadari Hotel is proud to note that 27 of these associates (staff) have shared the journey from the beginning and still continue to serve and look after guests who patronize the hotel.

The celebration of the 25th anniversary is not restricted to the associates of the hotel alone. A wide range of activity and offers have been arranged and extended to all guests throughout the month of October 2009.

October 1 - 10

One can enjoy a 25 percent discount on food and beverage as they savour the exotic delights of the Far East, a food promotion which takes place every night for dinner at the coffee shop from October 1 to 10, bringing an array of famous dishes from a multitude of countries in the Far East.

October 9 - 17

The Sheherezade, the only authentic Arabian restaurant in the city will dish out sizzling Middle Eastern cuisine with a series of Arabian Nights from October 9 to the 17. Enjoy the 'hubbli bubbli' in the Garden Terrace and take in the Middle Eastern atmosphere as you dine in the open air under the starlit skies.

There is a 25 percent discount on food and beverage courtesy of the Galadari Hotel at the festival of 'Arabian Nights'.

October 16 - 24

Feel like dining in the sky; visit the elegant California Grill the roof top fine dining restaurant and enjoy the 'twenty five 25' promotion. Chef Anushan has brought together the 25 most popular dishes served at the 'Cali Grill' and you get to select a three course menu for a very affordable price. This promotion runs from October 16 to the 24, he has also extended a 25 percent discount on the A-La-Carte menu for all those who will be celebrating their 25th Birthday or 25th Anniversary during this period.

October 29 - 31

Café 64 is the specialty 'quick takes' open from 7 a.m. till midnight, open every day of the year. Guests can enjoy a spicy Kottu, a delicious Seafood Food Fried Rice, the famous Jumbo Hot Dog or a Shawarma. The Galadari Hotel will indulge one with a complimentary ice cream and a welcome drink as the Café 64 terrace takes a carnival atmosphere with calypso music from October 29 to 31.

October 5 - 11

The chefs have created three special anniversary cakes and each of them priced at a very reasonable rate. If you are loading your larder, no better place than the "Café 64. The hotel will make you take away a 500 g cake - and it's free from October 5th to 11th.

October 1 - 10

Those of you who are looking for a relaxing evening visit the 'Lobby Bar' at the Galadari and try out as many of the 25 special cocktails that the Barmen will be mixing during October 1st to the 10th.

Whilst you decide on which one to start with, try out the 'Silver Jubilee' cocktail with the compliments of the hotel.

If you are in the mood to be a "Barry White", a "Bryan Adams" a "Tina Turner" or whoever takes your fancy, walk into the Nightingale Karaoke lounge and enjoy the same array of cocktails accompanied by your own voice or the many talented "idols" that have the X factor.

October 23 - 28

The Margarita Blue is the place to be in town. Unwind, throw back your hair and chill out to the cool rhythms of Aquarius. Take in stunning views of the Indian Ocean whilst dining on the many flavors of the BBQ from October 23 - 28 October.

Relax with a game of darts, snooker or pool and enjoy a 'Silver Jubilee' cocktail courtesy f the Bar members at the Margarita Blue. Early revelers can enjoy the happy hour from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. when the Galadari doubles every drink you order from our selected brands.

October 22-28

Ladies watch out for the 'Pink Party' that takes place on Thursday the October 22. Celebrating our anniversary this will be wilder than ever before. A special evening has been dedicated to all 'ranks' at the 'banks' and Wednesday the October 28 is 'Bankers Night'.

On this day the Galadari advances the happy hour which will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Take part in the pool championships or the beer guzzlers face off. It is going to be simply a fantastic night and don't hold back and save for another day.
