Sisira - Indrani launch new album
Good news for fans of singing couple Sisira Senaratne and Indrani
Wijebandara. The duo had released an album after 20 years titled Nivi
Nivi Dilisee. The CD comprises of 21melodious tacks of past hits of the
1950s and 1960s.
"Though many artistes have come to the limelight the public are still
vying for our songs. Two songs, Hithannako Ayyae and Honda Honda Lamai
which I have sung during my school days will be among the songs included
in the CD.
These have been recommended for school children by the Education
Department. Nivi Nivi Dilisee includes two duets as well as some popular
film songs. Ayubowan Wasanawan otherwise known as the Mangalam song is
also be included," Indrani revealed.
The CD was launched at the BMICH on September 19 to coincide with the
Colombo International Book Fair.
Sisira and Indrani are quite popular among music enthusiasts in the
country for hits like Nuhuru Nupurudu Rahasa, Mage Puthu Ta Mal, Eetha
Ahasae Nege Dinidu Paaya and Handapanae Mal.
Their Sisindra series, a string of musical shows which had enthralled
many music lovers all over the world, are one of the most looked forward
to events among music lovers.
